About The Write Time
A nurturing independent SEN school where every young person is supported to achieve, grow in confidence and prepare for a successful future.

Everyone achieves. Everyone succeeds.
At The Write Time, every young person is valued, understood and supported to achieve their full potential. As an independent SEN school for students in Key Stages 3 to Post-16, we combine personalised education, mentoring and specialist therapeutic support to help every learner build confidence, develop independence and prepare for a successful future.
Following a successful Ofsted Material Change, we are now approved to support up to 90 students and have expanded our provision to include Post-16 pathways in Food Technology, Arts Award and IT. Working closely with families, we create personalised learning journeys that enable every student to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Our story
The Write Time was founded on a simple belief: every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed in an environment where they feel understood, supported and valued.
As an independent SEN school for students in Key Stages 3 to Post-16, we provide a highly personalised education that recognises every student’s individual strengths, interests and aspirations. By combining tailored learning, specialist support and meaningful relationships, we help young people build confidence, achieve recognised qualifications and develop the skills they need for life beyond school.
Following a successful Ofsted Material Change, The Write Time is now approved to support up to 90 students and has expanded its provision to include Post-16 pathways in Food Technology, Arts Award and IT. We continue to grow while remaining committed to the values that have always shaped our school: high expectations, strong relationships and a genuine belief in every student’s potential.
Young People Supported
Since opening in 2014, we’ve helped more than 500 young people develop the confidence, skills and qualifications needed for further education, employment and independent living.
“Students like coming to school because they feel supported. They say staff are fun, friendly and kind.”
– Ofsted
Choice Theory in Practice
Our educational philosophy is rooted in William Glasser’s Choice Theory, encouraging students to take responsibility, build positive relationships and recognise the choices they have to shape their own future.
Student Feedback
“My favourite thing about being at The Write Time is I feel like I am in one big happy family, and I enjoy all of my lessons. However, I really enjoy my mentoring sessions with Eddy.”
– Sami
